More than 30 years ago, logger boots were still built purely as tools for the woods, heavy-duty labor, and harsh working conditions. Almost no one thought of them as something for everyday wear. But MANSWAY saw a different possibility. If the structure remained unchanged, could the shape and balance evolve? Could a high-arch logger boot stand firm in the outdoors, yet also find its place in daily life and the city? That question became the starting point of a long-term collaboration. At the time, high-arch logger boots were almost always paired with heavy work soles. MANSWAY was among the first to propose to WHITE’S that, without compromising the arch structure, Vibram Cristy Sole could be introduced to create a more modern silhouette and a boot better suited to everyday wear. At the time, this was a bold—even controversial—idea. But through repeated testing and real-world wear feedback, this combination allowed the logger boot to step beyond the limits of being only a work boot. This was not simply a change in style. It was a shift in lifestyle. MANSWAY’s goal has never been to weaken the work boot, but to make it a part of everyday life. As time passed, the structure continued to evolve. Heavier traditional builds were gradually refined into a single midsole with Half Slip, preserving the signature high-arch support while improving front-to-back balance for daily walking comfort. We experimented with different reinforcement designs over the years. What we have today is a mature construction that balances stability with everyday wearability. It is an answer earned through time. To commemorate this historic partnership, WHITE’S BOOTS also created exclusive details for MANSWAY, including the MANSWAY emblem and a “Made in USA” stamp on the insole lining.
